ABOUT GLOSWAC
GLOSWAC is an interactive atlas that provides detailed information about spectral wave conditions on a global scale.
Unlike standard characterizations based on integral parameters such as significant wave height (Hs) and peak period (Tp),
GLOSWAC offers a more comprehensive view by including the distribution of wave energy across both frequency and direction.
This characterization is based on long-term wave spectral statistics from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). GLOSWAC-0 is based on ERA-Interim data, while GLOSWAC-5 uses the more recent ERA-5 dataset.
